By instilling the beliefs of the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and the due to God and our country, Troop 45 has yielded some of the finest and well-disciplined young men our community has ever seen. Most of these men have had a tremendous and positive impact on our community and beyond. To date, Troop 45 has produced over 150 Eagle Scouts. Troop 45 has always been one of the best troops in the Indian Waters Council and could certainly compete with any in the country. This year marks the 82nd anniversary of the chartering of Troop 45.

Activities
Troop 45 meets every Tuesday night throughout the year from early September until late May. Our meetings are typically held at the Troop 45 Scout Hut located at 1366 Marshall Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115. On occasion, we will hold meetings at other locations for special presentations or events. These changes will be announced at our regular meetings and via emails. Troop meetings run from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. 6:30-7:00pm is an informal gathering time for fun and fellowship; the time is also used for scheduled tests and conferences

Scout Skills
Get Outside for Adventure
Scouting is about having fun in the outdoors and learning new skills. From canoeing to knot tying, fire starting to archery, Troop 45 gives you the opportunity to learn  many great skills that you just cant get anywhere else.
Service & Citizenship
Helping The Community
Boy Scouts are known for their service work and Troop 45 conducts various service projects which improve our community and environment. A project may be as a Troop, Patrol, or individual. Participation in most will apply toward your rank advancement.


Camping
Commitment to Outdoors
In Troop 45 we do our best to plan one weekend overnight activity each month.
Monthly activities and outings include:
• Backpacking Trips
• Campouts
• Summer Camp
• Camporees
• Day Training Sessions
• Tours
• Service Projects
• Fund Raisers
Each year, all troop members may attend a weeklong summer camp.

Orangeburg Rotary Club
Charter Sponsor since 1937
The Rotary Club of Orangeburg, under the leadership of their President Dr. Vance Brabham, decided in 1936 to start the process to organize and sponsor a local Boy Scout troop. Very few troops, if any, existed in the Orangeburg area at that time and the Rotarians felt that the local young men would benefit from this much respected organization
